Happy New Year!

As is common practice when the calendar rolls over a new year, we've been reflecting on last year and planning for the one ahead. We continue to be reminded of and encouraged by the high-caliber partners and entrepreneurs who have chosen to work alongside Weatherford Capital. Thank you for your partnership and sharing in the moments that made 2022 so special.   

As we look back on last year, we remember it as a critical one for the character-building of our firm, remaining committed to our Principled Investment Strategy. In March, we led an investment into Branch, which we believe to be one of the country's fastest-growing home and auto insurance providers. Shortly after, the Fund invested in Summit Broadband, a leading fiber optic broadband provider in Florida, which is the fastest-growing state in the country.

In November, we led an investment into Stellar, a technology-driven marketplace that allows property managers in the single-family rental space to schedule and complete maintenance and repair projects across their portfolio of rental properties more easily and affordably. Like the rest of our portfolio, we believe these investments are less cyclical and bring mission-critical solutions to the market. 

As we turn the page to 2023, we’ve taken a play from the Ted Lasso playbook and will continue to “BELIEVE” in The Weatherford Way and our Principled Investment Strategy. Our proven, timeless investment strategy is centered on partnering with outstanding leadership teams aiming to build highly resilient and valuable businesses that can navigate volatility in the market.

Although we are very confident in our approach, we also believe that any successful company or team balances optimism and pessimism. Bill Gates said it best: "You can only be an optimist in the long run if you're pessimistic enough to survive the short run."

We believe all good investing comes down to surviving an inevitable chain of short-term volatility to enjoy long-term progress and compounding value creation.

In our view, history has clearly reinforced why we should believe in a better future time and time again. We believe in the Weatherford Way, our investment strategy, and the Weatherford Team, and we invite you to do the same again this year; we are confident that it will be a fun and fruitful journey for all involved.
